OrCAD is basically a schematic editor allowing you to draw circuit schematics. The program has a nice collection of circuit parts or components to allow the student to perform their assignments and laboratory exercises.

PSPICE is an electrical simulator alllowing you to model the operation of circuits whose schematic was prepared using ORCAD. Students can check for correct circuit operation before building the circuit in the lab.

The student version of ORCAD runs PSPICE without leaving the user interface of ORCAD.
